Privacy-First Protocol

Privacy Policy

Zero logging. Zero tracking. Zero compromises on your privacy.

Last Updated: November 28, 2025

No Tracking

Zero trackers, cookies, or analytics

No Logging

We never log your IP or activity

Client-Side

All encryption happens in your browser

Privacy is Your Responsibility

While we don't collect any data, your privacy depends on your own operational security. We strongly recommend:

  • Using a VPN or Tor to hide your IP address from your ISP
  • Using a privacy-focused browser (Brave, Firefox with strict settings)
  • Creating a new wallet address specifically for private transactions
  • Never linking your identity to your wallet addresses publicly

1. What We DON'T Collect

ShadowPay is built on a zero-knowledge, zero-logging architecture. This isn't marketing - it's our core design principle.

No IP Address Logging:

We never log, store, or process your IP address. Our servers don't even have access to it.

No Cookies or Trackers:

Zero tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or fingerprinting. Your session data lives only in your browser's local storage.

No Personal Information:

No emails, names, phone numbers, or KYC. You're just a wallet address to us - and we like it that way.

No Transaction Metadata:

We don't log transaction amounts, timestamps (beyond what's on-chain), or user behavior patterns.

No Browser Fingerprinting:

No device tracking, user-agent analysis, or canvas fingerprinting techniques.

2. What Happens On-Chain

ShadowPay operates on the Solana blockchain. Here's what's visible on-chain vs. what's private:

Public On-Chain Data:
  • • Your wallet address (if you interact directly)
  • • Transaction signatures
  • • Block timestamps
  • • Pool addresses (for deposits/withdrawals)
Private (Hidden):
  • • Transaction amounts (via ZK proofs)
  • • Sender/recipient links (ShadowWire)
  • • Your IP address (not on blockchain)
  • • Your identity (if you don't reveal it)

Note: Blockchain data is permanent and public. Once a transaction is confirmed, it can't be deleted. Use ShadowWire's internal transfers to hide amounts and break sender-recipient links.

3. Network-Level Privacy

Your privacy extends beyond our application. Here's what you need to know about network-level privacy:

Your ISP Can See:

Your Internet Service Provider can see you're connecting to ShadowPay and the Solana network, even though we don't log your IP. Use a VPN or Tor to hide this from your ISP.

Solana RPC Nodes:

When you connect to Solana RPC nodes (required for blockchain interaction), those nodes can see your IP. Consider running your own RPC node or using a VPN for maximum privacy.

Browser Privacy:

Your browser can leak information through WebRTC, DNS requests, and other channels. Use privacy-focused browsers with strict settings, disable WebRTC, and use encrypted DNS (DoH/DoT).

4. Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to store:

  • Wallet connection state: To remember your connected wallet between sessions
  • Transaction notes (encrypted): Optional local notes you add to transactions (never sent to our servers)
  • UI preferences: Theme settings, tab selections, etc.

This data never leaves your browser. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser's local storage or using incognito/private browsing mode.

5. Third-Party Services

We minimize third-party dependencies, but some are necessary:

Solana RPC Nodes:

Required for blockchain interaction. We use public RPC endpoints, but you can configure your own.

Wallet Providers (Phantom, Solflare, etc.):

Your wallet provider has its own privacy policy. We don't control what data they collect.

Hosting Provider:

Our infrastructure provider may log standard server access logs (IP, timestamp). We don't have access to these logs and they're automatically rotated/deleted within 24 hours.

6. Law Enforcement & Legal Requests

We can't give what we don't have:

If law enforcement requests user data, we have nothing to provide. We don't log IPs, track users, or store personal information. The only data that exists is what's publicly visible on the Solana blockchain.

That said, we're required to comply with valid legal requests. Since we don't have user data, such requests would be directed at on-chain data (which is already public) or third-party service providers (ISPs, wallet providers, RPC nodes).

7. Verifying Our Privacy Claims

You can verify our privacy claims by:

  • Inspecting network requests in your browser's developer tools
  • Verifying that no analytics or tracking scripts are loaded
  • Auditing our smart contracts on Solana
  • Monitoring blockchain transactions to confirm no data leakage

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices (spoiler: we won't), we'll update this page and the "Last Updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on our homepage and GitHub.
